Yes I thought the crowd was a bit flat. Don't think it helped that you could not bring drinks into the main hall.

What a fantastic gig last night in Newcastle. Started with a gem in dream thrum and was a great mix of old and new. Particularly loved ps as an acoustic version. The new songs were well received by a very responsive audience by this stage of the gig. The crowd were a bit subdued at first but in an all seating venue it wasn't long before everybody was up and dancing. Loved Tim's couple of walkabouts, like to think we Geordies always treat him with utter respect, the respect this brilliant band deserves. We were up in the balcony, front row, and was disappointed to see so many sitting. I wasn't one of them, although some pipe and slippers guy tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I could sit down during attention! Sorry pal I respectfully told him but this is a James gig and no-one should sit down during a James gig! My girlfriends first James gig and she loved it and like me was up and dancing. By the end of the gig it was completely jumping. Thanks lads. Look forward to the next one.
