Anyone go to the Alton Towers gig in july 1992. I remember it being a great gig in which they trialled some of the songs that later became hits (like Say Something). I recall PIL getting loads of food being thrown at them and people throwing bottles of piss around (nice!). I also remember it almost being called off as the roof of the stage blew off.

Anyone else have memories of the gig?

P.S i found my bright souvenir red t-shirt from the gig the other day. Still fits.

I remember strangely very little of that day.

My best mate wouldn't go cos she thought James were pish, so I had to sweet talk a sixth former I'd met down the pub, who occasionally wore a James t shirt and usefully had a car to drive there.

I think I got quite drunk cos he turned out to be disappointingly boring, although whenever I hear Maria I'm taken back there.

We had to miss the fireworks as he was worried about traffic and stuff... yawn...

Your experiences are enough to convinced me that I should go on one of his event:)

I remember going to this with my mates and it was an amazing weekend. We booked into a farm about 15 minutes away...(Mrs critchlow I love you for taking in drunk southerners ) and got a taxi the nearest pub before Alton towers beautiful place when we got there but trashed when we left..the landlord didn't care as he ran out of all drink and made a fortune ..pil filled in at last minute if I'm right as whoever was scheduled pulled out , it didn't go well for them.. James smashed it and it will go down as the top gig for me ...you had to have been there to believe it.
