Good to see the new Olympics tv ad for TeamGB/National Lottery using Nothing But Love for the soundtrack. Hopefully it's made a nice little windfall for the band.

Can anyone remember other TV ads that have used James songs in the past? Pretty sure there's been a few.

I can't remember any .

The idea of lottery funding for Olympic sport is a good one and it's great to hear James being used. But I'm personally so pleased they've not sold out and we've never heard their music being used to sell a car or something . There's nothing worse than hearing a song you've loved suddenly appear on an advert ! When it's used so commercially it cheapens it.

It's not very fashionable to say these days but it's selling out. To me their music is art and it just wouldn't sit right with me at all. Sorry.

Think it was ITV that used it for their Champion's League coverage.

Re selling-out, I do get where you're coming from but so long as the product advertised is not exploitative / damaging to health, environment, etc it's fine by me. We all need to make a living.

A while back it was great to hear Sky Sports' Test match coverage using what sounded very much like an adapted version of the outro from Walk Like You for their backdrop leading into the ads break. Seems to have been dropped since though.

Here is the U.S., several James songs were used in commercials:

* "Born Of Frustration" was used in a Westin Hotels commercial.

* "One Of The Three" was used in a Tylenol commercial.

* "Whiteboy" was used in a Saturn car commercial.

I remember hearing those too. Was reading thru the list and going to mention them, but you beat me to it!

I recall hearing 'Laid' also. Was that used in a commercial too or just in the movie 'American Pie' ?

Just heard the chorus from Nothing But Love on Amazon UK's Black Friday promotional ad on TalkSport. Good for James because it sounded brilliant, exactly right for that kind of ad. Not as though there going to get any more sales from the album so they may as well cash in.

Update 15 Dec 2016: same chorus now being used on Amazon UK's tv Christmas ad. They obviously like it.
